The Wrath of God
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth…therefore, God gave them up…” Romans 1:18, 24
Dear Friends & Family,
For decades now, a systematic and consistent turning away from God and His Word has been occurring in these United States of America. The consequences for this rebellion against the Most-High God are now coming home to roost. We see them in our nation’s combative politics, in our social and cultural unrest, in our doctrinally deficient churches, and in the breakdown of the nuclear family, which is the very backbone of any society. It is impossible for any nation to reject and rebel against God and not reap the painful consequences thereof.
What does the wrath of God being revealed upon a nation like ours look like? It looks like off-the-charts drug use as men and women attempt to anesthetize the impact of a sinfully vexed conscience and a debased mind. It looks like a darkening of the heart as sexual deviancies take over with men and women exchanging their natural relations with one another for homosexual relationships and every kind of perversion (LGGBDTTTIQQAAPP: Lesbian, Gay, Genderqueer, Bisexual, Demisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Two-spirit, Intersex, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Allies, Pansexual, and Polyamorous.)
And finally, it looks like all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice, envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, gossiping, slandering, God-hating, insolence, haughtiness, boasting, evil, disobedience, foolishness, faithlessness, heartlessness, and ruthlessness being played out privately and publicly. Just a cursory glance at the evening news confirms the reliability of Romans chapter 1.
What started out as a nation founded upon rock-solid Judeo-Christian morals, ethics, and principles has now been denigrated to our current condition of wickedness and depravity. Welcome to the US of A in the year 2020. It is my firm belief that unless there is a REAL and authentic revival that consists of a large-scale confession and repentance of sin to the One True God, in and through the Lord Jesus Christ, things are going to get worse, much worse.
However, with the darkening of our nation comes a tremendous opportunity for the Light of the Gospel. For “the Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5) As the casualties from this present darkness continue to pile up, the Church is positioned to make an eternal difference for Christ and Kingdom. The question is…will we?
