Deacons

Deacons have a crucial role in the life and the health of the local church. The Biblical role of a deacon is to care for the physical and logistical needs of the church, under the authority of the elders. By handling such matters, deacons free up the elders to focus on shepherding the spiritual needs of the congregation.

Serving as a deacon requires a character quality that meets or exceeds the Biblical qualifications laid down in 1st Timothy 3.  Subsequently, the role of a deacon is of utmost importance for the church, which is why we are thankful to God for providing our deacons that serve the GBF church body so faithfully.
